Wear Blue for Autism Awareness Month on 4/15
For this week’s Monday Fun Run – we are encouraging you to wear BLUE 💙 to show support of someone with autism. We will be passing out Autism Awareness Puzzle Stickers.
Here are some facts about autism:
–In 2018 the CDC determined that approximately 1 in 59 children is diagnosed with an autism spectrum disorder (ASD).
–Boys are nearly 4 times more likely than girls to be diagnosed with ASD.
–There is currently no medical detection or cure for autism spectrum disorder.
–Nearly two-thirds of children with autism between the ages of 6 and 15 have been bullied.
–Autism affects all ethnic and socioeconomic groups.
–Early intervention affords the best opportunity to support healthy development and deliver benefits across the lifespan.
